50 Bistro offers Christchurch inspired bistro food with modern flavours, excellent wines and a great bar. The menu offers a large variety of dishes featuring classic dishes twisted with our own 50 flair. Our Executive Chef, Darren Conole, leads the kitchen team designing seasonal menus using the best local produce.
The stylish interior flows out to a generous outdoor area, complete with fire tables that reflect the warm hues of the orange onyx wall inside, making 50 Bistro the perfect place to meet any time of the day for coffee, cocktails and bar snacks or a meal.
With windows overlooking Hagley Park, breakfast in 50 Bistro is the ideal spot to start any day. Lunchtime brings with it buzzy vibe and offers great versatility and value with a selection of light meals and salads in addition to entrées and grills and desserts. Evenings offer a warm ambience and heartier comfort dishes perfect for relaxing with friends.
Sporting a comprehensive wine and drinks list and a range of bar snacks, the bistro’s contemporary bar with its leather couches is a comfortable yet stylish place to enjoy drinks with friends or meet with colleagues at any time of the day.

Surprisingly, for its boutique size, The George has six private rooms to cater for almost any business event, from 2 to 160. Each offers internet and multi-media facilities, and can be themed to suit any occasion. New wall and floor treatments and new soft furnishings give the hotel an even more contemporary look, and further enhance spaciousness and views.
Superb catering is a hallmark of The George. Craig Neal and his team of 15 chefs, renowned for their work in Pescatore and 50 Bistro, create individual menus for conference and meeting guests to the same award- winning levels.
The George’s central Christchurch position, with magnificent views of Hagley Park and the Avon river make it ideal for stylish meetings. As well, there are opportunities for team-building and outdoor pursuits in the park & The George’s private lawns all year round.
