The caring luxury policy is built around three pillars: caring for our people - manaakitanga, caring for our community - kotahitanga and caring for our environment - kaitiakitanga. Sponsorship and support of community fundraising initiatives is a big part of our caring luxury policy.

Applying for sponsorship or asking for a charitable donation? 

We are strongly committed to playing a role in supporting our wider community, through sponsorship of events or organisations, sporting, educational, and other community initiatives.  All sponsorship requests and requests for charitable donations are managed by Brook Serene Boutique Hotels.  To help you with your application or request please review the following information.

 

SPONSORSHIP GUIDELINES

Brook Serene & Company Ltd will consider sponsorship of events (or organisations) that allow Brook Serene to:

  • Communicate our Brand Values
  • Showcase one or all of our properties
  • Create a connection within the community
  • Generate exposure
  • Create future revenue opportunities

 

SPONSORSHIP CRITERIA

We have guidelines in place to determine the suitability of requests for sponsorship or charitable donations.  Brook Serene will only consider requests that are consistent with our objectives, which are:

  • A worthy cause that will have a lasting impact on the local community
  • The audience the prize is promoted to is the correct demographic
  • The package will have a high value associated with it*
  • We reserve the right to request that a reserve be set at 50% of face value.
  • Brook Serene (or the specific hotels') name or logo must appear on event banners, posters, approved printed material, displays, websites, direct marketing material, and social media platforms.
  • Preference will be given to organisations or causes that our team is passionate about, and community groups who support our locally-owned business.

 

*Please note we do not support silent auctions or raffles.

SPONSORSHIP SUBMISSIONS

To submit a sponsorship request, please email the following details to [email protected];

  • Which hotel you are requesting support from
  • Contact details, including phone and email
  • A detailed description of your group, charity, organisation, team, event
  • Where and when the event is to take place
  • The level of exposure of the event e.g. number of attendees/viewers
  • Likely demographic and reach of the activity i.e. local, regional or national
  • What rights and benefits are offered to Brook Serene (e.g. opportunity for media advertising, social media, tickets to the event, signage, or other exposure)

 

We receive many sponsorship and charitable requests and applications and we are only able to support a minority of these requests.  All requests must be in writing.  Requests for support of events within 7-days will not be responded to except in certain exceptional circumstances.  We review these on a regular basis and will advise in writing within 21 days.   Please note we do not offer cash donations or sponsorships.

An evaluation of the sponsorship will be required, detailing the total amount the auction raised, the amount our sponsorship raised along with the name, address and phone number of the winner or prize recipient of the voucher.  This information must be supplied to Brook Serene Hotel Management within 21 days.

We stayed at The George 6 years ago on our first honeymoon and returned here to start and end our month long second honeymoon around the South Island. As usual, the facility was excellent, and the service outstanding. Make sure you try the smoked salmon on the breakfast buffet, and if you need anything rely on Alex and Mark to assist you. Hands down the best hotel on the South Island.

Welcoming and helpful staff. Delicious dining at 50 Bistro with great kids menu. Lovely cocktails too for harried parents! Comfortable beds. Love the teddy bears at turn down! Great central location next to Hagley Park, Botanical Gardens and the Museum.

Alex and Morgana are absolutely the best. Alex accommodated us on our arrival and nothing was an issue. We cannot speak highly enough of your staff in general. We love staying at your hotel. Your staff pride themselves in hospitality. Not just service. Thank you to everyone that made our stay so welcoming yet again!!

I love staying at The George, there is an old fashioned and much missed intimate pride to everything the staff do. Your stay feels important to everyone. The rooms are well appointed, the location is excellent and the restaurant serves excellent food. As someone who travels extensively for business there is something entirely comforting knowing I'm heading to stay at The George.
