Situated on the ground floor of The George at the junction of Park Terrace and Peterborough Street, 50 Bistro is an award-winning restaurant serving contemporary New Zealand cuisine. Spanning three interconnected rooms, 50 Bistro offers a cosy meeting place, a sunlit conservatory and outdoor dining space, and a stylish indoor ‘neo-bistro’ restaurant. Under the direction of Executive Chef Ryan McKenzie, the menus showcase fresh local produce, seasonal inspiration, and artistic presentation, with exceptional dishes for every palate.

Helpful, friendly staff, and once we settled into our room, we were offered a complimentary juice, softdrink, or barista coffee via room service. Location is fantastic as the park and walk to botanical gardens was easily accessible. Free parking is also a bonus for us as we paid up to $40 at other city hotels. The best aspect of our stay was the staff – all seem happy and obviously enjoy working at The George.
